My name is John Pearson and I have a wide range of technical and other skills, covering open-source software - particularly Debian Linux, Perl, Apache and PostgreSQL. I've also worked in HF radio, digital telephony, and in roles where I was exposed to and participated in paralegal and accounting work.

Huiac.com Pty Ltd was an IT and Network Support Services provider in Adelaide; we ceased trading in June 2019, and so this is again my personal website.

After I wound up my business in Adelaide, I moved to Canberra and worked as an Editorial Support Officer in Hansard - providing general IT support to Hansard editors, preparing 3rd party material (like second reading speeches, reports and responses, and Chamber divisions) for incorporation into Hansard, and producing and publishing Chamber and Committee transcripts. In the process I picked up a fair understanding of parliamentary procedure, and became all too familiar with Microsoft Word and VBA (one of the few automation tools available to us), as well as a working acquaintance with Microsoft Sharepoint.

I've now retired and returned to Adelaide.
